Marcus Bonfanti in session on tomorrow night’s Blues Magazine Show
Marcus Bonfanti performs a studio session on tomorrow night’s Blues Magazine Show on TeamRock Radio – your on-air companion to the bi-monthly magazine.
Host Billy Rankin says: “Marcus recorded at TeamRock’s London studio earlier in the week, playing completely different versions of Cheap Whiskey and Honest Boy from his new album Shake the Walls – they’re not to be missed.
"Also not to be missed is the fabulous Mark Harrison, who got in touch with me via Facebook asking for some airplay. He really is good – kinda like Seasick Steve meets the Incredible String Band.
"New music comes from some wonderfully-named artists: Barrence Whitfield and the Savages, The Vintage Caravan, and my personal favourite: Big Head Todd and the Monsters.
"Plus No Sinner, a Vancouver band who are grabbing the headlines at the moment due to their beer-guzzling, fag-smoking, hotpants-wearing lead singer Colleen."
Billy digs into his personal collection to present a slow blues, fast fretwork performance by Ten Years After – a recording given to him by Alvin Lee himself.
He’ll also spin tracks from his favourite albums of 2013 including Samantha Fish, Cyril Neville, Mike Zito, Walter Trout, Sammy Hagar and Joanne Shaw Taylor.
He adds: “Next week we’ll have an exclusive from Joanne, so stay tuned.”
The Blues Magazine Show runs from 6pm until 8pm every Saturday on TeamRock Radio, which is available nationally via DAB and globally through the internet.
